A quick and easy guide for creators to double check the timeline and what everything is for:
To book your shop:
Complete the registration form for the sponsorship package you wish to have on the appropriate merchant page.
Within 48 hours, you will receive a confirmation notecard & email with the location where you may purchase your sponsorship. Simply go there, pay the appropriate SL Christmas Expo Relay For Life Vendor the correct sponsorship amount, and you will receive your merchant kit.
You will be invited to the SL Christmas Expo *RFL* Production Group.
October 1 – Registration Opens

November 20 – Photos of items, textures, notecards, landmarks deadline
November 22 – Official Expo Blogger deadline to receive items for review
November 22 – All raffle items due
November 28 & 29 – Merchant Set Up Day
November 30 – Blogger & Press Day
December 1 – SL Christmas Expo Opens 6am SLT
December 10 – SL Christmas Expo Closes 8pm SLT
December 11 – Clean Up Day
December 12 – Sims Offline
Prims & Merchant Decorations:
Your prim count is based on the sponsorship level you reserved. Please keep your decorations inside your store. The sim designer has worked long and hard to create our fantastic sims to make you proud to be a participant. By keeping your items inside,it is your way of saying “thank you” for your design efforts.
Our theme this year is Holiday Windows and we encourage merchants to decorate their shop windows. You have the option to participate in the Holiday Windows competition as well. If you wish to participate, simply place the Holiday Windows sign outside your shop near the window. We will place the Holiday Window kiosk near the sign. Visitors vote by donation to the kiosk. We also have a panel of 5 judges who will select the Judges Choice winners. We hope you have fun with this.
Special Blogger groups, totaling over 500 bloggers, and the Press will have early access to the sims – November 30. You do not need to have any blogger boxes out for them. They will purchase directly from the RFL vendors if they wish to review any items. Please feel free to utilize your own brand bloggers by sending them your 100% RFL donation items as you like.
Lodging and Transportation Sponsors, as part of your package, our Official Expo Bloggers will receive your items for review via the Blogger Boxes which will be inside your merchant kit. Please have those sent by November 22 so they may have time to review and prepare.
We will have RFL Donation Kiosks throughout the SL Christmas Expo, you do not need to place any out. If you would like one in your store, you may contact Madonna Melinia in world on Nov 28 or 29 and she will get them to you.
Photos & Notecards for Advertising:
Please ensure you have sent us your photos & notecards of your required 100% donation items so we can promote them for you, this includes OOAK Breedables and Limited Edition Breedables. Deadline is Nov 20 to ensure inclusion in our online Visitors Guide.
Relay For Life Vendors
We do require two new items to be sold in our Relay For Life vendors, but we have found that most merchants / creators have always made an extra effort to include four or more. We are very grateful to all merchants, especially those who go above and beyond with a third or fourth item. 100% of sales from these vendors will go to the Relay For Life of Second Life and The American Cancer Society.
Each sponsorship level allows a specific number your own store SINGLE item SIMPLE vendors to be in your store. You may choose to only have these out along with your two 100% RFL vendors, or if you wish to have more than your sponsorship permits, you must use the 50% split RFL Vendor in your kit. You may use as many of these 50% vendors as you wish.
Some merchants choose to have all vendors in their stores donating 100% to the Relay For Life of Second Life, some prefer a mixture. It is up to the merchant.
Please send your Raffle Item(s) and pictures by November 24 at the absolute latest. November 15 if you want to ensure inclusion in the online Visitors Guide
Relay For Life Gotya Vendors
Merchants who utilize Gotyas in their sales are encouraged to do so at the Expo. Each merchant will receive 1 Gotya machine in their kit which splits profits 50% with the American Cancer Society. If you wish to have more, either request then when you register for a sponsorship, or complete the Gotya reservation form located here. Each additional Gotya is L$250.
You will receive your RFL 50% split Gotya machine in your merchant kit. These are the only Gotya’s permitted at the SL Christmas Expo. Any other Gotya will be returned. No Gotyas in your shops please. You may have as many Gotya spots as you like. Your spot(s) to place out the Gotya’s will be marked with your store texture on Nov 28, we will try to send landmarks, but please feel free to find your spot and rez the Gotya. Don’t forget to send us the texture for each Gotya so we can promote your Goyta’s for you. November 20 deadline
Stocking Suffers Hunt
Stocking Stuffers are back this year. Each merchant kit has a Stocking Stuffer vendor in it. Simply place your item in and hang in your shop. Visitors purchase for L$20. You can have as many as you like. Please send us a picture of the item and your shop name so we can promote for you. November 20 deadline. You are also welcome to hang the stockings in your main store.
Please ensure you get all your required items to us in a timely manner. The elves are very busy preparing webpages, visitors guides, building buildings and paving the streets so the deadline of November 20 is important so they have proper time to prepare and promote for you. Photos, logos, etc received after November 20 cannot be guaranteed to be included in the online Visitors Guide. Help us help you !
