The Christmas Expo Mission: To Fight Childhood Cancer

Christmas is especially important to kids! Remember how big that tree was when you were small? Pictures with Santa? Listening for those reindeer on the roof?  Christmas Morning?! For kids Christmas is a Magical Season! And so, this year the Expo has a new mission. Together with the American Cancer Society and our partners at Linden Lab®, the expo will be supporting Childhood Cancer initiatives of The Society. All proceeds of the Expo will be directed to support research and palliative efforts to help children with cancer.

A Thank You From Kenya

So proud of everyone from the 2018 Christmas Expo!
Thank You For All You Did And Continue To Do!!

Thanks in large part to Relayers in Second Life, we’ve been able to launch the Patient Navigator program at KNH which in the last year has given FOUR THOUSAND Kenyans access to better information and assistance. Think about that number for a moment: four thousand people! Ask yourself how many family members they each have. How many friends and loved ones? There are tens of thousands of people in Kenya today whose lives are already better because of you.

Director, Global Stakeholder Engagement – Thank You To SL Christmas Expo

Dear Relayers,

I have been hearing about the incredible work you are doing in Second Life with the Christmas Expo, and your dedication to the critical mission of supporting the Patient Navigator Program at Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya. On behalf of our Key Partners at KNH, the entire American Cancer Society and of the people in Kenya whose lives will be immeasurably improved by your efforts, Thank You!

It seems to me so very appropriate that you come together as Relayers in this Holiday Season. The unifying theme of celebrations the world over at this time of year is one of hope in times of struggle. They are all about finding the light, nurturing it, protecting it when the dark of night is upon us. Each of you adds to that light, and together you are a bonfire – a beacon that Survivors and Caregivers around the world look to and which gives them the strength to continue their journey.

There is no greater gift.

With deep respect,

Kristen Solt
