SL Christmas Expo is a mega event that raises funds for the American Cancer Society. The expo will be supporting the Childhood Cancer initiatives of The Society. All proceeds of the Expo will be directed to support programs, research and palliative efforts to help children with cancer.
Our Christmas Expo merchants are some of the kindest and generous merchants on the grid. They participate from the heart for the right reasons. Through the generosity and support of our merchants, the SL Christmas Expo has raised more than $200,000 US over the years.
Your merchant registration is considered a donation to the American Cancer Society and is not a registration fee. You are eligible for a tax receipt for bronze or higher packages.
For your convenience, the merchant packages are outlined below along with the registration form.
It is IMPORTANT to read the information tabs located in the IMPORTANT INFORMATION – You Asked ~We Answered section below. We would hate to have to ask you to leave the Expo due to non-compliance.

Please remember you do not have to design based on any specific decade. That creativity is up to you.

We realize some prefer to scroll through all the information on one page and some prefer to have it broken into tabular sections. We offer both to our merchants. Below is the event information on one page. You will also find the information on each sectioned tab across the top.
Merchant Participation
Help support the fight against childhood cancer by contributing two exclusive items to be sold at 100% donation to the American Cancer Society. Your creations will not only enrich the Expo experience but also contribute to a worthy cause.
- One item must be a brand-new creation, showcasing your innovation and craftsmanship.
- The second item can either be another new creation or a fresh interpretation of one of your popular designs. While recolors are accepted as exclusives, we encourage you to offer something truly exceptional.
- This is a big draw to your Expo Fair store for shoppers to see all your items.
- It does not have to be made new, we leave that up to you, however, the item must be of good and current quality.
- You may have more than one Stocking Stuffer in your Expo / Fair store.
- The stockings do not have to be hidden.
Merchant Store & Content Guidelines
Event Focus
While ever running premise of the Christmas Expo & Winter Fair is BELIEVE IN THE MAGIC OF CHRISTMAS, and we do as that you keep that whimsical thought while creating, however, we do not require you to make item that are Christmas / Holiday/ Winter based. We do ask that you create and / or display items that will entice your customer to visit your store. Embrace this opportunity to showcase your creativity and shine.
Registration & Participation Criteria
📌 Reserving Multiple Stores: Merchants have the option to reserve more than one store at the event, provided they are the owner of all reserved stores. Each additional store requires a separate application form.
📌 Sharing a Store:Sharing a store is permitted between two different creators or two different brand names for Platinum and Gold stores only. The guidelines are: Two stores may share a single space but must operate as separate participants. Each creator sharing the store must provide 2 New Exclusive Items and participate in the Stag Hunt.
- Payment Process: The avatar who registers for the store understands s/he is responsible for ensuring that all individuals who are displaying in the store follow the participation guidelines and for ensuring that the correct fee is paid.
- Land Impact: Store land impact (LI) must be shared between both stores.
Do NOT give payment to anyone else. All fees are non-refundable donations to the American Cancer Society.
📌 Donation Due Dates:
- Region Sponsorship Pkgs – within 7 days (1 week) of confirmation or July 31st, whichever is first.
- July 1 – July 31, 2024 registrations – within 7 days (1 week) of confirmation
- August 1 – September 30, 2024 – within 72 hours (3 days) of confirmation
- October 1 – October 31, 2024 registrations – within 48 hours (2 days) of confirmation
- November 1 – November 10, 2024 registrations – within 24 Hours (1 days) of confirmation.
Fundraising Bonuses at entertainment and other Audience participation venues at the SL Christmas Expo & Winter Fair help to generate additional support for the American Cancer Society. All funds collected by the official ACS Mega Event Avatar, such as sponsorships and merchant registration fees, are considered to be donations to the Society. Some funds may be used to help encourage additional fundraising by providing bonuses and matching donations. Payments to vendors or donations to kiosks, which are immediately paid to the official American Cancer Society account, are not included in this program.
Content at the SL Christmas Expo / Winter Fair
- Items determined by Linden Labs to be botted, copied or violating copyright or intellectual property infringements by a designer shall be returned if and when a DMCA is effected against them. Note: In such cases were a DMCA has been filed, the SL Christmas Expo & Winter Breedables Fair, the Relay For Life of Second Life or the American Cancer Society, cannot take the responsibility to remove any items until ordered to do so by Linden Labs.
We can not, and will not, mediate disputes of claimed copywrite between creators and will recommend the injured party to file a DMCA
Script Guidelines
📌Script Usage: Follow scripting guidelines to minimize lag and ensure a better experience for visitors.
- Low to moderate script times per item and per creator are recommended.
- High or extreme script times may require corrective action from merchant liaisons.
- Landmark givers and group joiner are permitted as long as you “touch” them to get the item / group
- No listener scripts, shouting scripts, greeter scripts, or traffic detectors allowed.
- No collison scripts (step on an item and something pops up in chat)
- No hover text allowed; turn it off on vendors and displays.
- Remove all scripts used in store decoration (Not Sold Products).

📌TOS, Community Standards: All persons, behavior, and objects at the SL Christmas Expo & Winter Fair must follow the Linden Lab Terms of Serviceand the Second Life Community Standards.
By registering for the SL Christmas Expo & Winter Fair, you agree that you have read, fully understand and accept all policies, guidelines and disclaimers governing the event. The Christmas Expo organizers reserve the right to remove items or merchants from the Expo should any rules be broken. The situations are handled on a case-by-case basis. There will be no refund on shop money should such a situation occur.
Things We Need
📌 Promotional Materials: Merchants are requested to provide logos, landmarks, and textures for promotional purposes within specified timeframes.
We promote the Expo / Fair as a whole, therefore we ask merchants, in partnership with the Expo / Fair, to promote their participation to their groups, on any social media and in their stores.
📌 Merchant Checklist: Ensure you’ve completed all the necessary steps for a successful participation in the SL Christmas Expo & Winter Fair:
- Exclusive Creations: Prepare two exclusive items for donation to the American Cancer Society.
- Join The Stag Hunt: Offer a hunt item valued at a minimum of L$50 for Expo / Fair-goers to find.
- Participation in the RAFFLE (Optional): Consider participating in the Mega Holiday Shopping Spree raffles for additional engagement.
- Participation in CYBER MONDAY(Optional): Consider participating in the special Cyber Monday event for additional engagement and sales.
- Compliance with Merchant Store & Content Guidelines: Review and adhere to all guidelines to ensure your participation aligns with Expo standards.

Merchant Guidelines – Vendor & Raffles
For Successful Partnership with the Event
Thank you for your dedication to our vendor guidelines, which play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our event. To streamline your participation and maximize the impact of your contributions, we’ve outlined key points for your reference:
Vendors
📌Vendor Selection:
Utilize the provided SL Christmas Expo vendors for your two new exclusive 100% donated items. In addition to the required two vendors, you’re encouraged to showcase additional SL Christmas Expo vendors in your store. These can be either 100% or 50% donations to the American Cancer Society and won’t count towards your Land Impact allocation.
📌Donation Transparency:
In November, you will receive both 100% and 50% American Cancer Society SL Christmas Expo Vendors. To ensure transparency, only the provided SL Christmas Expo vendors with a 50% split are permitted. Vendors with other split percentages must be removed.
📌Your Own Store Vendors:
You have the flexibility to use single-item or multi-item event vendors for your own store.
No Miepon or similar type vendors / games are permitted and will be returned.
📌Texture Optimization:
- Keep vendor image sizes within 512 x 512 or 1024 x 1024 sizes to optimize performance.
- Flatten or remove the alpha layer from any vendor or display texture
- No use of event logos on items for sale.
📌Simplify for Smooth Shopping:
Consider using Simple Single Item Prim Vendors for your own 100% store items to enhance the shopping experience.
- Simple Vendors Are Easy To Create: Rez A Prim, Name The Prim, Drop Your Texture On The Prim, Drop An Item In The Prim, Set Prim For Sale To Sell A Copy. It’s as easy as that!
- Avoid script lag and missed deliveries by opting for simpler setups.
- Enhance sales tracking during the festival by adding “XmasExpo” or “XE” to the name of your simple single item vendor.
Holiday Shopping Spree Raffle(s)
This raffle(s) is drawn at the end of the Expo and is a large shopping package for the lucky winner(s). The winner(s) often use the gift cards as Christmas gifts, which increases visitors to your main store after the Expo ends. Our past Mega Holiday Shopping Raffles have had over 150 gift cards and over L$100,000 values.
We usually have 2 large raffles, depending on the number of gift cards received. If you would like to participate in both raffles, be sure to include a minimum of 2 gift cards of equal value.
Individual Gift Cards of L$1,000 or higher may be used in individual raffles
📌Gift Cards: Merchants have the option to participate in the Mega Holiday Shopping Spree Raffle(s) by providing simple gift card certificates instead of networked scripted cards
- Gift Card certificates should include necessary details for redemption and must be submitted within the specified timelines.
- There is no minimum number of gift cards, but each must be of equal value and a minimum of L$100.
Raffle Guidelines
To streamline our raffle process and ensure efficiency, we recommend the classic and effective Simple Gift Card Certificate method. Here’s how to prepare your gift cards:
📌 Simple Gift Card Certificate:
- Include the L$ amount of the Gift Card on your logo texture.
- Add “SL Christmas Expo” to your logo texture for easy identification.
- Name the texture in the format: “XXX (store name) L$xx (value) Gift Card SL Christmas Expo 2024” or similar.
- Create a notecard explaining how to redeem the certificate, including contact information and a landmark or marketplace SLURL to your store.
- Drop both the texture and notecard in the drop box at the SL Christmas Expo Merchant Centre, and we’ll take care of the rest! We’ll name the prim the same as your texture and set no copy permissions.
📌 Technical Details:
- Ensure the texture is full perm, flattened and free of alpha layers for easy handling
- The notecard must be copy and transferable, we’ll adjust permissions as needed
- Once the raffle winner are chosen, we’ll notify you of their names so you can arrange the proper gift card or credit with them directly.
📌 Raffle Donation Guidelines Reminder:
- Minimum gift certificate value of L$100.
- Each card should be of equal value to easily divide into 2 raffles.
- Depending on the response, we may organize 2 large raffle bundles with gift cards distributed amongst them, with 1 winner per raffle.
- Individual gift cards with values of L$1,000 or higher may be used in separate raffles.

Merchant Guidelines – Cyber Monday
For Successful Partnership with the Event
CYBER MONDAY 2024
Participate in the Cyber Monday 2024 sale day and drive business to your Expo shop. All that is needed is 1 item in a single item vendor placed outside your Expo store on Monday December 2
Requirement:
Provide one item for sale in one of your own single item vendors at a discount of at least 20%. This item can be new or one of your more popular items. The purpose is to entice people to your Expo store. The item cannot be discounted and sold at your store outside the Expo or on marketplace. Should you choose, you can use the SL Christmas Expo 100% donation vendor, but it is not required for your Cyber Monday item.
- You can have a max of 1 of your own vendors outside the front of your store.
- You can have a max of 1 Christmas Expo vendor outside the front of your store.
- If you wish to have more Cyber Monday vendors, then please put them inside your store in a prominent location.
- The item(s) cannot be your 2 required exclusive items
- The item must be discounted at least 20%
- You must place the Cyber Monday prim on the vendor(s)
- Your vendor textures must have the regular price AND the discounted price clearly shown
- Send us the texture(s) of the item(s) you are selling – ensure the regular price AND the sale price is on the image so people can see the savings, along with Save 20%, 25%, 30%, 50% or Sale 20% off etc (whatever amount you are doing).
- Place the vendor with the Cyber Monday sale items just outside the front of your store on Monday, Dec 2
- Remove the Cyber Monday vendor(s) at the end of the day.

Shop & Display Guidelines For Merchants
To streamline your participation and set up time, we’ve outlined key points for your reference:
Setting Up Shop
📌 Setting Up Shop:
- You’ll receive landmarks in the group November 21. Keep an eye out for updates!
- Shop set up is 4am slt November 22 – 7pm slt November 26.
- Shops not set up by November 26 7pm slt will be considered no-show and offered to merchants on our waiting list (no store refunds).
- Feel free to include a touchable landmark giver or group joiner in your shop, but avoid disruptive scripts and subscribers
📌 Display Etiquette:
- Disable hover text for both your own and SL Christmas Expo Vendors to maintain a clutter-free environment.
- Respect land impact limits and stay within the boundaries of your designated space.
- Indoor walls are permitted.
- No outdoor decorations/ signage are permitted
- No flashing textures, strobe light style decor etc.
📌 Texture Optimization:
- Flatten or remove unnecessary alpha layers from textures to optimize for lag reduction
- Ensure your logo size doesn’t exceed 512 x 512 for proper placement on signage. Square logos only. No alpha logos.

Our past Mega Holiday Shopping Raffles have had over 150 gift cards and over L$100,000 values.
We usually have 2 large raffles, depending on the number of gift cards received. If you would like to participate in both raffles, be sure to include a minimum of 2 gift cards of equal value.
Individual Gift Cards of L$1,000 or higher may be used in individual raffles
📌Gift Cards: Merchants have the option to participate in the Mega Holiday Shopping Spree Raffle(s) by providing simple gift card certificates instead of networked scripted cards
- Gift Card certificates should include necessary details for redemption and must be submitted within the specified timelines.
- There is no minimum number of gift cards, but each must be of equal value and a minimum of L$100.
Raffle Guidelines
Gift cards cannot be networked cards. Unfortunately, we have had too many networked gift cards fail to transfer ownership to the raffle winners, and that is not fair to them, or to you as a merchant.
To streamline our raffle process and ensure efficiency, we recommend the classic and effective Simple Gift Card Certificate method. Here’s how to prepare your gift cards:
📌 Simple Gift Card Certificate:
- Include the L$ amount of the Gift Card on your logo texture.
- Add “SL Christmas Expo” to your logo texture for easy identification.
- Name the texture in the format: “XXX (store name) L$xx (value) Gift Card SL Christmas Expo 2024” or similar.
- Create a notecard explaining how to redeem the certificate, including contact information and a landmark or marketplace SLURL to your store.
- Drop both the texture and notecard in the drop box at the SL Christmas Expo Merchant Centre, and we’ll take care of the rest! We’ll name the prim the same as your texture and set no copy permissions.
📌 Technical Details:
- Ensure the texture is full perm, flattened and free of alpha layers for easy handling
- The notecard must be copy and transferable, we’ll adjust permissions as needed
- Once the raffle winner are chosen, we’ll notify you of their names so you can arrange the proper gift card or credit with them directly.
📌 Raffle Donation Guidelines Reminder:
- Minimum gift certificate value of L$100.
- Each card should be of equal value to easily divide into 2 raffles.
- Depending on the response, we may organize 2 large raffle bundles with gift cards distributed amongst them, with 1 winner per raffle.
- Individual gift cards with values of L$1,000 or higher may be used in separate raffles.
Participate in the Cyber Monday 2024 sale day and drive business to your Expo shop, all that is needed is 2 items, and they do not need to be exclusive.
Requirement: Provide one item for sale in one of your single item vendors at a deep discount of at least 50%. This item can be new or one of your more popular items. The purpose is to entice people to your Expo store. The item cannot be discounted and sold at your store outside the Expo.
Your Cyber Monday vendor must be placed in a prominent location for the day.
We will provide the following to be used:
Cyber Monday logo to be put on your vendor for identification
Cyber Monday will be put outside your store
Your expo store will be included in our Cyber Monday social media promotions

For Successful Partnership with the Event
CYBER MONDAY 2024
Participate in the Cyber Monday 2024 sale day and drive business to your Expo shop. All that is needed is 1 item in a single item vendor placed outside your Expo store on Monday December 2
Requirement:
Provide one item for sale in one of your own single item vendors at a discount of at least 20%. This item can be new or one of your more popular items. The purpose is to entice people to your Expo store. The item cannot be discounted and sold at your store outside the Expo or on marketplace. Should you choose, you can use the SL Christmas Expo 100% donation vendor, but it is not required for your Cyber Monday item.
- You can have a max of 1 of your own vendors outside the front of your store.
- You can have a max of 1 Christmas Expo vendor outside the front of your store.
- If you wish to have more Cyber Monday vendors, then please put them inside your store in a prominent location.
- The item(s) cannot be your 2 required exclusive items
- The item must be discounted at least 20%
- You must place the Cyber Monday prim on the vendor(s)
- Your vendor textures must have the regular price AND the discounted price clearly shown
- Send us the texture(s) of the item(s) you are selling – ensure the regular price AND the sale price is on the image so people can see the savings, along with Save 20%, 25%, 30%, 50% or Sale 20% off etc (whatever amount you are doing).
- Place the vendor with the Cyber Monday sale items just outside the front of your store on Monday, Dec 2
- Remove the Cyber Monday vendor(s) at the end of the day.

Shop & Display Guidelines For Merchants
To streamline your participation and set up time, we’ve outlined key points for your reference:
Setting Up Shop
📌 Setting Up Shop:
- You’ll receive landmarks in the group November 21. Keep an eye out for updates!
- Shop set up is 4am slt November 22 – 7pm slt November 26.
- Shops not set up by November 26 7pm slt will be considered no-show and offered to merchants on our waiting list (no store refunds).
- Feel free to include a touchable landmark giver or group joiner in your shop, but avoid disruptive scripts and subscribers
📌 Display Etiquette:
- Disable hover text for both your own and SL Christmas Expo Vendors to maintain a clutter-free environment.
- Respect land impact limits and stay within the boundaries of your designated space.
- Indoor walls are permitted.
- No outdoor decorations/ signage are permitted
- No flashing textures, strobe light style decor etc.
📌 Texture Optimization:
- Flatten or remove unnecessary alpha layers from textures to optimize for lag reduction
- Ensure your logo size doesn’t exceed 512 x 512 for proper placement on signage. Square logos only. No alpha logos.

Our Official Expo Bloggers help get the word out regarding the Christmas Expo, its merchants, and your two 100% required donation items. They work hard before and during the Expo to help make it a great success!
This year we are going back to basics to get your review items to our Official Expo Bloggers. Merchants will be using good old prim blogger boxes. And it couldn’t be easier or more reliable!
Below are the details and the FAQ’s for merchants who wish to use the Official Expo Bloggers.

Do I Have To Participate?
No. Participation in the Expo’s blogger program is optional.
You do not have to give review copies to our Official Bloggers.
You can use your own bloggers if you like in addition to or instead of our Official Expo Bloggers. A pingback to the Expo blog would be appreciated and totally awesome!
OR
You can ask the blogger to purchase the item from your 100% Exclusive Xmas Expo vendor in your Expo store. Nothing wrong with that at all…. we are raising money for charity afterall.
How Do I Give A Review Copy To Official Expo Bloggers?
We will have a special blogger room set up starting November 21. Merchants who wish to participate simply purchase one of the boxes on the wall (L$0), drop their boxed review copy in the contents, and add a texture to the front of the box (so bloggers can see what is inside).
Do not take the box or move it from the wall. Please leave it where it is or it will not work. Do not set it for sale. Do not remove any scripts from the box.
Only your 100% Semi-Exclusive / Exclusive items or your One Of A Kind item are to be placed in the blogger boxes. 21
Who Can Get The Review Copies From The Blogger Room?
Only the Official Expo Bloggers.
The box will have a whitelist of bloggers who can get the contents when clicking it. No one else can get a copy.
Does Each Item Need A Box ?
We do recommend buying an empty box for each 100% Semi-Exclusive / Exclusive / OOOAK review copy so each may have its own texture on the box for bloggers to see.
I Am New To This - What Should I Put In My Review Copy?
You put the 2 required 10o% Exclusive items in your review box.
Include any information notecard you want to pass on to the blogger.
If you wish to include a landmark to your Christmas Expo store, where the item is located, you will need to wait until November 21 to set your blogger box up. The landmark will be available on that date.
No worries though, bloggers do not have access until Nov 26, so you are fine.
Do I Have To Give My Items To ALL The Bloggers? That Is A Lot
You do not have to give the actual review copy to all the Official Expo Bloggers.
Simply make a box containing your vendor ads for your 100% Semi-Exclusive / Exclusive items and include a notecard letting bloggers know to contact you if they wish to blog your items. Place that box in the blogger room box as described above.
OR
You can simply go through the Official Expo Blogger list, handpick and contact them yourself. This does not guarantee they will say yes and blog about your item.
OR
The blogger can purchase the item from your 100% donation vendor in your store.
Will Other Bloggers Have Early Access To The Expo Regions?
We will be opening the Expo regions to the following groups on November 28. The Blogger Hub and Seraphim.
These bloggers will have early access to wander the Expo shops and event areas. They will have the opportunity to purchase any of your 100% Donation Items (which the official bloggers already received earlier in the blogger boxes) directly from the ACS Christmas Expo Vendors in your store before the regions open to the public and are encouraged to post a blog on items they find interesting.
You do not need to place any blogger review boxes out in your store. These bloggers have been asked not to contact you for review items. If anyone does, please let us know and we will take care of the situation for you.
I Have My Own Blogger
If you have a specific store/brand blogger and you would like them to have early access, please have them join one of the early access groups…The Blogger Hub and Seraphim.
With 200 merchants we cannot possibly add every individual blogger to an access list. And, since they are only blogging your item exclusively, they can get that item from you directly.
A ping back to the Expo site is required.
Do You Guarantee My Item Will Be Blogged About?
We wish we could, but honestly, we cannot. Bloggers have different items they blog about, different preferences for styles, colors… different tastes. We try to have a variety of bloggers to cover as wide range of areas as we can.
We ask that they blog about 3 items minimum, however, they are free to choose what items they blog about.
Will I Know If My Item Was Featured In A Blog?
We ask our Official Christmas Expo bloggers to send our blog manager a link to any blogs they post re: the Christmas Expo and the link will be posted on our Blogging The Expo webpage.
The Blog Manager will send you a notecard / IM letting you know your item has been blogged about. We also post the link in the Christmas Expo Discord Channel and in group notices as well.
